On The Burren
The Burren is Ireland's limestone landscape covering 160 miles of County Clare, where diminutive plants hidden in crevices contrast the ancient stone dolmens and ringforts jutting from the horizon. Philip and Pam Boulding have been composing and playing music together since 1979. This, their fourth recording, includes music written about visits to Ireland, and about an active life with their five children on a farm by the Puget Sound.
The CD reissue includes two additional songs not included on the original LP, "Blind John the Harper" and "The Glass Horse." The album was produced by Michael O Domhnaill. Philip Boulding, nylon & wire harps / Pam Boulding, harp, hammer dulcimer, whistles / Michael O Domhnaill, guitar ("Grace Nugent"), piano ("King George"), harmonium ("Ballyoran") / Billy Oskay, violin ("Grand Solace") / Grace O'Malley, cello ("Grand Solace").
